Hotel Kinsley Breathes New Life Into Historic Hudson Valley Town

Once the capital of the state, Kingston, New York is a town rife with historic properties. A seemingly sleepy destination, it’s seeing an influx of dining options and boutiques (like Hamilton & Adams and Exit Nineteen), thanks, in part, to the development of Hotel Kinsley. And as the pandemic drives the New York City crowd upstate, at only about 95 miles away from the city, Hotel Kinsley and its four restored historic buildings totaling 42 rooms present an attractive accommodation option.

The property features preserved details like fireplaces, Victorian era tile work, wooden shutters, and crown molding designed by Studio Robert McKinley, with modern furniture and contemporary artwork selected by curator Lolita Cros.

Located in the main Wall Street building, the Restaurant Kinsley is run by chef Zak Pelaccio and restaurateur Taavo Somer (also of the Inness). Hotel Kinsley also offers a more casual option down the street at LOLA pizza.

A stay starts at $229 per night and can be book online.
