Plant Power Fast Food has partnered with Tom Robinson, a Michigan-based writer, actor and comedian, to introduce a vegan take on the beloved cult favorite, the Coney hotdog. The LTO will be offered from Oct. 21 through November for $7.95 at Plant Power’s Hollywood location, according to a press release.
The Coney dog, also called the Coney Island hot dog, didn’t start on Coney Island in New York. It was invented in Michigan. according to the release.
The brand will also release limited edition hats and t-shirts.
All profits from the sales of the hotdog and exclusive merchandise will support the non-profit Youth Climate Save.
“Teaming up with Tim to put a vegan twist on one of his home state dishes has been exciting for us,” Zach Vouga, founder of Plant Power Fast Food, said in the release. “Being able to channel our combined passions into supporting the incredible work of activist Genesis Butler is fulfilling as she continues to be a beacon of inspiration for our entire team.”
