The Restaurant Business team on Friday added three new Jesse H. Neal awards to its growing collection.
At the 69th annual awards ceremony in New York hosted by the Software & Information Industry Association, or SIIA, RB took the trophy for the Best Range of Work by a Media Brand, which is the top award overall in the category.
RB also won for Best Website. In addition, the team won for Best Subject-Related Package for the “Killer in the Kitchen” coverage, which focused on the epidemic of addiction and substance abuse in the restaurant industry. The Killer in the Kitchen package was also a runner up for the Grand Neal, an award that honors the best of all entries among all categories.
The Neal awards celebrate excellence in business-to-business journalism and they are among the most prestigious of editorial honors. Restaurant Business this year was a finalist for 12 awards.
“I think this team consistently produces the best work in the business and I could not be prouder,” said Jonathan Maze, RB Editor in Chief. “The ‘Killer in the Kitchen’ package in particular was an important work highlighting an issue of vital importance to the restaurant industry.”
RB was also a finalist this year for 14 regional and national awards from the American Society of Business Publications (ASBE), known as the Azbees. Last week, RB won six regional Gold Azbee awards, five silver and one bronze. The winners of the national awards are scheduled to be revealed in May.
