Starbucks Interim CEO Howard Schultz has voluntarily agreed to testify in front of Bernie Sanders’ Senate committee on health, education, labor and pensions, or HELP.

In this episode of Working Lunch, Align Public Strategies Founding Partner Joe Kefauver and Partner Franklin Coley discuss the upcoming testimony, and why it could become an overall assault on the restaurant industry.

They also visit with Chicago political veteran Ryan McLaughlin to discuss the mayor’s race in Chicago, what happened with Lori Lightfoot, and what the two remaining candidates mean for restaurant owners.

The industry also found itself in the news cycle, outlining the industry’s role in the economic recovery, the importance of women returning to the job market and the nagging problems of pay equity and transparency. In addition: Legislative scorecard.
