The majority of consumers still prefer giving their order to a person at a quick-serve restaurant, but millennials and Gen Zers prefer using a self-order kiosk.
That’s according to a consumer survey of nearly 800 U.S. customers by Revenue Management Solutions LLC, a provider of data driven solutions for restaurants, according to a press release on the survey.
Where 41% of the overall population preferred ordering from a kiosk, 58% of millennials and 67% of Gen Zers preferred kiosk ordering.
Just 17% of Baby Boomers and 37% of Gen Xers preferred kiosk ordering.
The overall benefits of kiosk usage in QSRs are:
- Building my own order, 64%.
- Less pressure when ordering, 61%.
- More time to browse the menu, 57%.
- Easy to navigate, 58%.
- Able to track orders on the screen, 53%.
In addition, the survey found households with children are more likely to use kiosks than those without children.
