Culver’s is bringing its cheese curd back for a much longer encore.

The fast-food burger chain on Wednesday said that it would bring back its Curderburger on Oct. 12.

This time, the burger will remain on the menu for more than an hour. The company said that it would remain on its menu until the end of the month “or while supplies last.”

It comes a year after the company brought an item that grew out of an April Fool’s joke to its actual menu.

Curderburger

Culver’s Curderburger featured a cheddar cheese curd on a Deluxe ButterBurger.

Culver’s joked on April Fool’s Day that it would start selling a Curderburger, which appeared to be a burger made from a cheese curd, rather than ground beef. It soon generated a push by consumers for the brand to introduce an actual Curderburger and, on Oct. 15 last year, the company did just that.

But the product was available for just one day and most locations ran out of the product in less than two hours. The viral menu item was a marked departure for a chain from rural Wisconsin that is not historically known for such risk-taking.

“We realized we had to bring it back in a much larger way for 2022,” Quinn Adkins, Culver’s director of menu development, said in a statement, “and we’re hopeful our guests will say it was worth the wait.”

The Curderburger is a Deluxe Butterburger topped with a “crown of golden fried cheese,” made with cheddar.

Customers who buy a Curderburger will have the opportunity to win a CurderBurger t-shirt. They can simply upload a photo of their burger or a receipt between Oct. 12 through Oct. 25.
